One travel companion or an organized group?

A smaller party offers flexibility; a group offers structure. Both require independent documents, money, and a route home.

Traveling as a pair

  • Easier to change pace and route.
  • Conflict between two people affects the whole trip.
  • Agree on rooms, budget, alcohol, sleep, and time apart.
  • Keep bookings and emergency funds independent.

Organized group

  • A set itinerary, coordinator, and more people around.
  • Less freedom to change the route or pace.
  • Verify the organizer, refund terms, and included services.
  • Never give unauthorized people your passport or banking access.

Which works when?

For a first trip together, a short route with independent bookings is often easier to exit than a complicated long-distance journey. A group can add structure, but still requires organizer and contract checks.
